Castle Law hillfort sites within the Ochils, on the edge of Culteuchar Hill with commanding views over lower Strathearn. This walk visits the fort, which was excavated in 1891, discussing the site and its possible roles within the surrounding landscape. Wear stout footwear, and bring a packed lunch Grade of walk: Hard. Killin stone axe factory |

Polished stone axes are intriguing relics from prehistory. This walk visits one of only two known production sites for Neolithic stone axes in Britain, on Creag na Caillich. Get the opportunity to see and handle polished stone axes from the collections of Perth Museum. The tour will then move on to Highland Perthshire to find out more about their production and trade throughout Scotland and beyond while enjoying the spectacular views over the surrounding landscape of Loch Tay. Earth buildings in the Carse of Gowrie |

In contrast to much of Perthshire, where stone became the preferred building material, the Carse of Gowrie has an assortment of clay built structures spanning hundreds of years. This tour visits a number of these sites, including Cottown Old Schoolhouse and Flatfield, an early brick built farmhouse. Cottown Old Schoolhouse is a rare surviving example of a clay-built cottage with thatched roof once common in the east of Scotland, now in the care of the National Trust for Scotland, Grade of tour: Easy.
