Busy Mill for Community Open Day

On Saturday 25th February 2023 we opened the doors of Lower City Mills to welcome the local community. Staff, volunteers and trustees spent the day showing off the machinery, telling people about the planned mill project and chatting about other areas of our work. Visitors were treated to exclusive new architect’s renders of what the building may look like after the project is complete, as well as the chance to see our magnificent waterwheel turning! We had colouring-in for those who wanted to get creative too.

It was a brilliant day. An estimated 150-200 people came through the doors for a look around – many of whom told us they’d never been inside before! We were able to collect lots of responses to our public survey, which will help us secure vital project funding. If you haven’t yet filled in the survey and would like to help us out while having your say, please go to our project page.

“Thanks for organising the Open Day. It was great to see the space and see/hear the wheel turning.”
