This full-colour monograph tells the story of the challenging excavation and recovery of the Late Bronze Age logboat from the Tay Estuary, involving an innovative and multi-disciplinary approach with archaeologists, palaeo-environmentalists, conservationists and marine salvage divers working together. The papers presents a background to logboats, a comprehensive account of the project, and detailed description and reconstruction of the boat itself. Further chapters consider the context of the vessel in terms of contemporary environment, settlement, ritual and trade. The first detailed synthesis of Late Bronze Age Tayside for almost forty years.
