The Trust awards grants toward a wide range of projects and work relating to the conservation, promotion and understanding of the built heritage. Historic Building Grants are awarded towards building work on Statutory Listed Buildings which involves the repair, conservation or restoration of architectural features using traditional materials and techniques. Examples: Thatching, slate-work, sash and case windows, cast iron finials and decorative railings, stone carving, stained glass windows, lime mortars and harl. Other work eligible for grant includes archaeological digs and surveys; conservation of structures within designed historic gardens and landscapes, historic research, interpretation of sites and other publications relating to historic buildings and places.
