Exploring Perthshire's PastLearning and Resources

The Trust's work is increasingly focused on the promotion of the historic environment to the public.

The historic environment is fundamental in defining a sense of place about where we live, and in creating a sense of identity. In addition, archaeology and historic buildings provide an excellent focus and resource for life-long learning and recreation, being popular both with visitors and local communities. The promotion of the heritage resource of the area is an important, and ever developing, aspect of the work of the Trust.

Exploring Perthshire's Past (EPP) is the name for all of Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust's public outreach, encompassing Doors Open Day and Perthshire Archaeology Month.  EPP also provides opportunities for volunteers to be 'hands-on', getting actively involved in the conservation and promotion of the area's historic environment.

Another key are of education and outreach is our series of A5 popular booklets, covering various aspects of the historic environment.  In addition, the Trust also gives regular talks and presentations to local groups and interested organisations, and produces both leaflets and on-site interpretation for sites.
