Exploring Perthshire's PastLearning and Resources

Perth and Kinross has a rich and varied archaeological and architectural heritage to explore.

The historic environment, consisting of historic buildings and archaeological sites and landscapes, is fundamental in defining a sense of place about where we live. In addition, it provides an excellent focus and resource for life-long learning and recreation for both local residents and visitors. Indeed, archaeology and historic buildings have been shown to be a major reason for international visitors to come to Scotland. Promoting learning and engagement with the historic environment is an important, and ever developing, aspect of the Trust's work.

Key to this is the Trust's publication series, covering many aspects of the historic environment. In addition, the Trust also gives regular talks and presentations to local groups and interested organisations, and produces both leaflets and on-site interpretation for sites.

Exploring Perthshire's Past covers all aspects of the Trust's public outreach, encompassing Doors Open Day and Perthshire Archaeology Month and other 'hands on' opportunities for volunteers, getting actively involved in the conservation and promotion of the area's historic environment.
