Historic Environment Record Services
Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust can provide information and services relating to the local Historic Environment Record.
Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust maintains the Perth and Kinross Historic Environment Record (HER). The Historic Environment Record is a database of archaeological sites, historic buildings, findspots, archaeological events and significant places mapped to Geographical Information System or GIS. The HER holds over 16000 records ranging from prehistoric burial monuments to WWII bunkers.
The HER is used by the Trust in its planning archaeology advice service, project and outreach work and to respond to public and commercial enquiries about the historic environment. PKHT maintains Record Search, a simplified textual version of the HER and submits spatial HER data for display on the national website Pastmap.
How to consult the HER
Information on how to consult the HER can be found in our Access to Information and Charging Policy. Public enquiries are free of charge and should be directed to the Outreach Officer. A charge may be made for the collation of HER data for commercial enquiries. Commercial enquiries should be made to the Heritage Officer.
