Historic Environment Record Services
Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust can provide information and services relating to the local Historic Environment Record.
Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust maintains the Perth and Kinross Historic Environment Record (HER), a database of archaeological sites, historic buildings, findspots and archaeological events held in a Geographical Information System or GIS. The HER holds over 17,000 records ranging from prehistoric burial monuments to WWII bunkers.
The Trust uses the HER in many ways: as baseline data for planning archaeology services; for project research; and to inform outreach work. PKHT maintains Record Search, a simplified textual version of the HER and submits spatial HER data for display on the national website Pastmap.
How to consult the HER
Information on how to consult the HER can be found in our Access to Information and Charging Policy (see Downloads at bottom left of page). Public enquiries are free of charge, however a charge may be made for the collation of HER data for commercial enquiries. Enquiries should be made to the Heritage Officer.
